WSU Tech on Friday announced that it has set a record for enrollment, as it exceeded 5,000 students for the the first time in the collegeâs history. A school spokesperson says the headcount total of 5,211 for Spring 2019 was as of earlier this month, meaning it expects that number to rise as it has additional student starting throughout the spring. As it stands, that number was an increase of 515 students year over year, with growth in enrollment of high school students in WSU Tech programs citied as helping drive the overall gain. WSU Tech said in an emailed press release that overall student credit hours were also up 2.6 percent year over year. âWe attribute our success to being laser-focused on two things,â said Sheree Utash, president of WSU Tech. âHow we can help to create an educated workforce for Wichitaâs business and industry, and how can we make training and higher education accessible for all individuals by removing the barriers that keep them from moving forward with their education?â This marked the sixth straight semester for enrollment growth at WSU Tech.
