Spirit AeroSystems’ acquisition target Asco hit by cyber attack

A European-based aerospace supplier, in the closing stages of being acquired by Wichita’s Spirit AeroSystems Inc., was recently hit by a ransomware cyber attack that shut down its operations.  Asco Industries Inc. says on its website that the attack, which happened last week, caused “a serious disruption on all of our activities” and caused the stoppage of work at all of its sites in Belgium, Germany, Canada and the United States. “With the help of external expertise, we installed several network streams to allow a safe and secure restoration of our systems in the different sites.
