Police find man hugging pooch after marijuana melee in Kingston

Called to an altercation between a man and a woman, Kingston police found the man hugging his dog while the woman yelled at him.

They later learned the fight was over a pot stash.

Police were called to the mid-town address at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, then reviewed a video of the man fleeing the apartment with his pooch while the woman chased and tackled him, then kicked him repeatedly until he got to his feet and punched her.

The source of the video was not explained.

A 20-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, both of Kingston, were taken to the police station and charged with assault.
