From treating insomnia to menstrual discomfort and being âsnoopedâ by Snoop Dogg, Hollywood A-listers who enjoy a puff every now and then:

For DiCaprio, 2016 was a milestone year. Not only did he pick up his first Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award that year (not to mention the best actor Oscar for The Revenant), he also sported a brave new accessory at the SAG galaâa vape pen.
âI was 20 feet, 15 feet from Leonardo DiCaprio, sitting there with his mom. He was hitting a vape pen. But it wasnât him that was making me kinda nervousâI was feeling this emotion because thereâs an etiquacy [sic] of, when weâre there, that you pass that s**t, Leo! And he never did, so that was weird to me,â actor Miley Cyrus Miley said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Entertainment Tonight further commented, âOnly Leo could pull off vaping at a major awards show.â
Cannabis edibles were the go-to for Charlize Theron (best actress for Monster in 2004) as she tried coping with insomnia. Quoted in the CNN news report, Theron said: âMy mother showed up at my house, literally drove in her little tennis outfit and brought me a little container and just left it on my kitchen table. She was like, âSo I got some blueberry-covered chocolate ones, but if you want it faster-acting, you should go for the mints. Those you suck, and it works fasterâ.â
The actor also admitted why sheâs into cannabis at E! News: âIâd much rather get off sleeping pills and figure out a strain that helps me sleep better. So when I have a moment, Iâm actually doing that with my mom. My mom has really bad sleep, too.â
A cannabis icon, Jeff Bridges (best actor for Crazy Heart in 2010) famously played âThe Dudeâ in the stoner comedy, The Big Lebowski. Surprisingly, Bridges admitted to laying off pot when reprising the character for a Stella Artois Super Bowl commercial (pictured above) this year. âIâve smoked a bit of herb in my time. I chose not to smoke any doing that movie because the linesâevery man, every f-bomb you wanted to get right in the music. You didnât want to be improving stuff. I thought, I gotta lay off the pot, man,â as previously reported on The GrowthOp.
Everyoneâs imaginary BFF, Jennifer Lawrence (best actress for Silver Linings Playbook in 2013) once admitted getting in a fight about poop after smoking cannabis at Ellen DeGeneresâ 60th birthday party.
After enjoying a joint with some rappers while waiting for a ride, Lawrence admitted to âentering a different universe.â
She then recalled going to the porta potty, where she ran into a woman Lawrence was convinced wanted to poop. As reported by Canoe, the actor said: âI made a beeline for her and I went up to her and I was like, âLook, you gotta poop.â And she was like, âNo, I donât. I donât know why youâre saying that. I really donât. She was kind of laughing, but was like, âNo.ââ The situation escalated after the actor unintentionally grabbed the woman âby the shoulders, shaking her, screaming, âYou have to poop! You have to poop!â
Not only was McConaughey (best actor for Dallas Buyers Club in 2014) busted for suspected marijuana possession in 1999, but he also got worldwide recognition as a stoner icon for his role in 1993âs Dazed and Confused. The actor is back with a âbongâ in his soon-to-be-released movie, The Beach Bum, where he hilariously got âsnoopedâ by co-star Snoop Dogg.
During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor said: âMy snooping happened when it was a scene where Iâm going to Snoop, Iâve got writers block, and Snoop has the magic weed, all right? I go to Snoop and I go to the prop man and make sure Iâve got prop weed. Now, prop weed is not real weed. Itâs like crushed oregano and stuff. So we get in the scene, itâs about a six-minute scene. We pass back and forth, and all of a sudden at the end, he goes, âYo, Moondog â thatâs my characterâthat ainât prop weed. Thatâs Snoop weed.â And I went, âOh, you son of a gun.â The next nine hours were a lot of fun, but I donât think we used one word in the English language.â
âNever give up the ganja!â Morgan Freeman (best supporting actor for Million Dollar Baby in 2005) was quoted saying in an Elite Daily interview. Calling for cannabis legalization in an interview with The Guardian, Freeman admitted to using cannabis for pain relief after a 2008 accident that left him with shattered bones in his left arm.
âThey used to say, âYou smoke that stuff, boy, you get hooked! My first wife got me into it many years ago. How do I take it? However it comes! Iâll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it! This movement is really a long time coming, and itâs getting legsâlonger legs. Now, the thrust is understanding that alcohol has no real medicinal use. Maybe if you have one drink, itâll quiet you down, but two or three and youâre fucked,â he said.
Co-founded by Whoopi Goldberg and Maya Elisabeth, Whoopi & Maya is a line of medical cannabis products designed specifically for relief from menstrual discomfort. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Goldberg (best supporting actress for Ghost in 1991) says she believes cannabis is the new penicillin for period pain. âYou know, not everybody drinks, but we still have bars and shitâso why not dispensaries?â Responding to then-U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessionsâs comment, âGood people donât smoke marijuanaâ, the actor said in the same interview, âBut the states arenât going for it; and the people arenât going for it. This is the new penicillin. There are so many things it helps, why wouldnât you want this in our lives?â
