As with its existing line, The Flowr Corporation has set its sights on the needs of a premium client with the announcement that it is partnering with Chef Ryan Reed to cook up a new line of signature edible cannabis products.

A past winner of Iron Chef and Chopped and Victoria’s 2011 Chef of the Year, Reed has been hired to collaborate closely with Flowr’s research and development team to research and develop high-quality edibles, notes a statement from Toronto-based company that, through its subsidiaries, holds a cannabis production and sales licence granted by Health Canada.

The hiring “complements Flowr’s already significant investment in research and development,” including the company’s dedicated, state-of-the-art cannabis R&D facility and recent hiring of Deron Caplan, North America’s first cannabis cultivation PhD, says Tom Flow, co-CEO of Flowr.

“Bringing Ryan into the fold is the next step in a focused R&D strategy that has created a competitive advantage for Flowr and will keep us on the cutting edge of cannabis innovation,” adds Dr. Lyle Oberg, the company’s chief policy and medical officer.

Having been responding all along the line to head chef, “I look forward to working with Tom and the team to bring gourmet, sophisticated edibles that are intended to cater to the needs of a premium customer to market,” says Reed.
