Although seven early-bird states seem to enjoy a daytime toke, users in most other states were more likely to partake in the late afternoon to late-night hours, with pot lovers in Arizona and Texas waiting till nearly midnight to light up. Residents of Tennessee and Minnesota, conversely, were shown to habitually get lifted around 4:20pmâin keeping with classic stoner traditionâwith eager Nevada lighting up around 4:10pm.
The remaining states showed a preference for limiting consumption to after dinner, with tokers in states like Idaho and Florida holding off until after 11 pm to imbibe.
All in all, over 80 percent of American states preferred to consume at nightâalthough there were a few that showed a proclivity to wake and bake. Residents of states including Montana, the Dakotas, and Wyoming, were shown to enjoy starting the day with a little smoke and flower, starting to consume just past 8 am. South Carolina and Arkansas were even more prompt to get their morning smoke on, starting at 7:50 and 8 am, respectively.
Although more research is needed about the smoking preferences of the American people, this data may be helpful in determining the social in-and-outs of usersâ hometown habits.
