KIRKLAND, Wash., Nov. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)
-- GrowLife, Inc.
(PHOT) (âGrowLifeâ or the âCompanyâ), one
of the nationâs most recognized indoor cultivation product and
service providers, today announced that it has named William
âBillyâ Blackburn as President of the companyâs product development
division, GrowLife Innovations. Blackburn has extensive experience
in commercial cannabis cultivation and is the Founder and CEO of
the companyâs most recent acquisition, EZ-Clone Enterprises,
Inc.
Blackburn started in the commercial hydroponics industry in the late 1990s, focusing on building products and equipment that help large scale cannabis cultivators grow more efficiently. Having discovered the importance of propagation during the cannabis cultivation process, Blackburn developed a revolutionary cloning system that would later be the first EZ-Clone product. Since then, Blackburn has brought countless products to market and has built EZ-Clone to be a world leader in propagation equipment that is carried by some of the worldâs largest retail and wholesale brands.
âOur product development subsidiary GrowLife Innovations is the most important vertical for the future of our company and we could not have asked for a better leader for it than Billy,â said GrowLife CEO Marco Hegyi. âBilly has a tremendous amount of experience in product development, specifically for the commercial cannabis industry, which is perfectly aligned with our company. We work with cultivators of all sizes to find solutions that reduce production costs and increase quality and output, which Billy understands through and through. He has worked with some of the largest names in the industry on growing solutions and will easily be able to translate that experience into our current and future products. Billyâs first major endeavor will be to finalize our commercial vertical grow system testing, create production capacity for the system, and bring it to market for sales throughout North America.â
Blackburn said, âI am thrilled to join the GrowLife team in this product development capacity. I have many ideas on how we can adapt and create cultivation equipment that stays ahead of market trends and brings major value to the GrowLife product offering. Our customers turn to us as leaders in the space who understand their needs in terms of product quality and growing efficiency, and I will work diligently to develop cutting edge technologies and solutions for cultivators of all sizes. With over 20 years of experience in growing equipment, my experience will only lend to my success in this role and continue to position GrowLife as the ultimate leader in the space. Starting with production ramp up and market launch of the commercial vertical grow system, we will continue to innovate new products and systems that help to achieve GrowLifeâs mission of lowering production costs of cannabis for our customers and increasing quantity while maintaining quality.â
The product development division of the company, GrowLife Innovations (âInnovationsâ), has become an integral part of the companyâs market expansion and execution plan and focuses on solutions for production inefficiencies through development of proprietary âindustry-changingâ products, such as the commercial vertical grow system. The patent-pending system which utilizes automated technologies and cubic growing space is currently undergoing Proof-of-Concept testing in Colorado showing promising results.
