Gabriellaâs Kitchen Inc. has partnered with Eximius Coffee LLC on a joint venture to launch a line of cannabis and CBD-infused coffee beverages and infused single-serve grounds suitable for steeping.

Â
âThe economics of the transaction will see an equal sharing of costs and revenues between the joint venture partners,â notes a statement from U.S.-focused, cannabis wellness company, Gabriellaâs Kitchen. Eximius, for its part, is the third largest coffee importer in the U.S. and has products, under various brand names, sold in retail grocery stores throughout the country.
Citing figures from Beverage Marketing Corp., the press release states âthe cold brew coffee market is on a tear, growing 12 percent in volume and 14 percent in retail sales in 2017.â
To be manufactured at The Oil PlantâGabriellaâs Kitchenâs licensed manufacturing facility in Santa Rosa, Calif.â the cannabis-infused, cold brew coffees will use high-grade quality oil extractions, the statement notes. Sonoma Pacific Distribution, a licensed distributor in the process of being acquired by Gabriellaâs Kitchen, will distribute the products to licensed retailers (dispensaries).
As for the hemp-derived CBD infused cold brew coffee, that will be manufactured by Xtract Xperts using hemp CBD oil extracted in its Oregon facility, âand will be launched into the mainstream market, as legally allowable, for distribution using Gabriellaâs Kitchenâs relationships and infrastructure,â the statement adds.
Â
Â
Gabriellaâs Kitchen and Eximius âare concluding the logistics of infusing single-serve coffee pods with cannabis and expect to be able to bring those to the licensed market very soon,â the press release notes.
The joint venture also encompasses the development, launch and distribution of similar products infused with CBD for the mainstream market, it adds.
âThis joint venture validates GABYâs strategy. In 2018, we worked hard to build our infrastructure. In 2019, this infrastructure will serve as the catalyst to catapult our growth,â comments Margot Micallef, founder and CEO of Gabriellaâs Kitchen.
Â
Â
âEximius prides itself on staying at the forefront of what its customers seek,â notes Carlos de Aldecoa, CEO of Eximius, pointing out that âwe know that cannabis and CBD is becoming an important part of our consumersâ wellness strategies.â
âA key aspect of GABYâs strategy is to be a leader in normalizing cannabis and CBD consumption,â Micallef says. âWe are heavily focused on bringing high-quality products to market that consumers can incorporate into their day-to-day lives,â she adds.
