Th  B.C. Cannabis Store in Kamloops opened its doors on Oct. 17, 2018, the same day the Cannabis Act, which legalized and regulated  possession, came into force.

On Tuesday, the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch, the government body responsible for distributing cannabis products, told Postmedia that 12 other communities have been giving the green light to 12 other communities to open B.C. Cannabis Stores but they couldn’t provide a time frame as to when they would be open.

There are no provincial stores in B.C.’s largest communities, Metro Vancouver, Victoria or Kelowna.
