A 35-year-old Gatineau man faces a series of charges after a raid on a Hull area residence uncovered a wide variety of cannabis-related items, including jujubes and hard candy, as well as items used in cannabis trafficking.
Police said the Mar. 27 raid found various forms of illicit cannabis including 111 pounds of bulk cannabis, 451.1 grams of cannabis resin (known as âwaxâ), 7,900 grams of jujubes which contained âapproximately 25 MG of THC per bearâ according to the labelled packages, 690 grams of hard candy containing THC, 60 small muffins, in packages of 4, containing THC, 85 refill units for vaporizers containing THC (E liquid) and 2,200.8 grams of hashish. Police also seized 22.4 grams of white powder which remains to be analyzed.
Also discovered were a $4,000 closed-loop butane extractor used to extract THC from cannabis, an industrial furnace used to bake cannabis resin, plastic bags for packaging and a number of electronic scales.
Police also seized a vehicle, a cellphone and $33,395 in cash.
The suspect, whose name was not released, will appear in court at a later date on several federal charges of possession and possession for the purposes of trafficking.
Provincial offences under Quebecâs Cannabis Control Act âcould be added, which could result in fines,â police said.
