Canadian cannabis company Hexo Corp. said Tuesday it has appointed Michael Monahan, a former finance head for Nutrisystem Inc., as its chief financial officer. Monahan will be based in the U.S. where the Quebec-based company is launching Hexo USA Inc. in Delaware. "We've been sharing our vision and plans to operate in legal markets in the US to provide legal cannabis experiences powered by HEXO," said Hexo Chief Executive and co-Founder Sebastien St-Louis in a statement. "Onboarding a US-based CFO of Michael's caliber and establishing HEXO USA Inc. are real steps towards bringing the HEXO experience to the US." Hexo shares rose 2.2% premarket and have gained 69.9% in the last 12 months, while the S&P 500 has gained 3.9%.
