Airbus opened the Mobile assembly plant in 2015 for work on the narrow-body A320.  Another assembly line at the plant was announced for the A220 — formerly the Bombardier C Series — in 2017 as part of the deal that made Airbus the majority owner of that aircraft program.  Construction of the A220 assembly line began in January, where it is expected to begin delivery of those jets for U.S. customers next year.  Other A220s continue to be built at facilities in Canada.  Airbus late last year delivered the 100th A320 jet built at the Alabama plant.
