Blue Ridge Hemp Co. (BRH) seeks a writer and copy editor. This position is open to remote employees outside of the Asheville, NC area. We are a dynamic CBD company that specializes in producing high quality topical, superfood, and flower products. Our mission is to empower others by promoting wellness, gratitude, and self-care through our products and message.

As a writer and copy editor, you would have the opportunity to support our company’s continued evolution and contribute to North Carolina’s growing industrial hemp industry. Many of our customers experience painful and debilitating health challenges, so you must possess the ability to support customers in a helpful and compassionate manner. JOB OVERVIEW – INTERN WRITER AND COPY EDITOR

Hours of work: TBD, part-time

Applicants must possess:

  • Laptop computer
  • Knowledge of cannabis
  • Experience with written / email communication
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Efficient transcribing skills
  • A helpful, positive, and compassionate disposition
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Willingness to adapt to last-minute changes
  • Professional writing experience, willing to provide samples of past work

    • Responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Creation of social media caption content across all platforms and posting
  • Creation of blog posts based on social media content
  • Proof-reading of documents as needed
  • Willingness to take on last minute projects
  • Learning and retaining knowledge about our company’s products and CBD
  • Learning and retaining knowledge about the legality of CBD

    • Experience: Relevant: 1 year (Preferred) Proofreading: 1 year (Preferred) Copy Editing: 1 year (Preferred) Editing: 1 year (Preferred)
