Reports To: Vice President, Supply Chain

Job Overview: The Supply Chain team is looking to hire a Supply Planner, responsible for creating the master production schedule, ordering raw materials, deploying products and maintaining the inventory plan for dosist’s’ manufacturing facilities and co-packers in California.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Production Planning
  • Responsible for creating the master production schedule which includes reviewing capacity constraints and inventory projections
  • Work with production team to schedule WIP and finish good production
  • Recommend production plans and changes that balance customer demand and manufacturing efficiency
  • Communicate constraints, negotiate solutions that meet the needs of the company and execute against the agreed upon plan
  • Plays a leading role in aligning operational activities to meet the inventory demands of the company
  • Implementation of Economic Order Quantities (EOQ) for finished goods
  • Analyze and recommend changes to Make to Stock vs. Make to Order
  • Responsible for planning system maintenance and configuration
  • Deployment
  • Responsible for the management of finished goods inventory as it flows from point of manufacture to distribution centers and ensures that accurate quantities are supplied at the appropriate location to meet customer demand
  • Create deployment strategies for inventory allocation and configures deployment planning system to generate transfer orders; monitors the age of finished goods inventory and initiates transfers to reduce un-saleable product
  • Review daily shipment requirements reports and determine order sourcing location (customer shipments and stock transfers)
  • Communicate and report all problems and issues to transportation, customer service and production planning
  • Work with warehouse partners on current space analysis and optimization
  • Review product flow analysis and recommended efficiencies
  • Optimization of movements within supply chain network including transportation and warehouse
  • Assist with locational expansion
  • Raw Materials
  • Order raw materials required to cover production schedule, including notification of any/all potential out of stock situations
  • Work with suppliers to convey future production schedules, forecasts and timeliness of raw material deliveries
  • Implementation of Economic Order Quantities (EOQ) for raw materials
  • Change bill-of-material in the system when changes are implemented or new products are introduced
  • Coordinates delivery schedules of raw materials including dock scheduling
  • Verify and audit raw material deliveries for accuracy and take corrective action
  • Tracks invoices or supporting paperwork for raw materials received
  • Gather Damaged Material Report data and manage DMR process from creation to collection
  • Coordinates return shipment of damaged or poor quality raw materials
  • Work with Inventory to reconcile material counts within the system
  • Reporting and Other
  • Creating and publishing reports (e.g., Days of Supply Report, Hold Report, Slob reporting at the end of the month for all products)
  • Work with cross functional teams on optimization opportunities
  • Analyze Inventory and make recommendations on dead stock or slow-moving stock
  • Ad hoc projects, analysis, reporting and project coordination
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, Operations or Finance or equivalent business background
  • Three+ years of experience in production scheduling, capacity planning, raw material ordering and deployment planning
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate and interface proficiently on computer, phone, and in person to work cross functionally within multiple departments
  • Ability to work independently with directional supervision
  • Understanding of inventory strategies (LIFO, FIFO, FEFO)
  • Experience in MRP and ERP
  • Excellent computer skills (spreadsheet and word processing)
  • Ability to influence and be persuasive
  • Aptitude for understanding manufacturing and plant needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; APICS certification a plus
  • Advanced organization skills and excellent follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform under deadlines and constraints
