What We Are Looking For In This Role

As a QA Manager at Leafly, you will work alongside and manage the QA engineers on your team. You’ll partner closely with product owners and engineers to scope qa efforts on projects. You’ll help your team deliver on time through daily mentorship, technical guidance, business guidance, and by removing roadblocks. And you’ll support the personal career growth and development of the QA engineers on your team.

Here are some of your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Partnership with Product and Engineering leads
  • Provide input on QA level of effort, and outline any risks or traps
  • Advocate for both product and technical excellence
  • Build out and directly manage a world class team of 2 to 6 QA engineers
  • Work closely with technical leadership to establish best practices and procedures
  • Continually improve our processes by volunteering new approaches to: developer productivity, tooling, product quality, and team efficiency
  • Design test cases, test plans, test matrixes, and maintain them in an agile environment.
  • Lead by example in delivering high-quality products and adhere to quality best practices: strategic test planning, automated end user test, multi-level testing
  • Drive technical and process improvements within team, and inform improvements across teams and the org at large
  • Engage regularly with Technical Platform Leads and other Engineering Managers
  • Employee growth and development
  • Mentoring and coaching in regular 1:1s

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of shipping software in a professional team setting
  • 3+ years team management experience
  • Proven track record in leadership and mentorship
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience building and supporting high-scale, high-performance web applications in a cloud environment
  • Expert in testing software, and comfortable working at all platforms layers and tools: HTML, Postman, Node. JavaScript, Web Services, Jira, SQL, MongoDB. Automation tools, Jest, Selenium, Nightwatch, Browserstack.
  • Ability to embrace, learn, and apply new technologies and tools
  • Experience with more than one mobile operating system technology
  • Experience with the latest web technologies, tools, and practices
  • Experience working with an agile team of engineers
