Security Guard

Security Guards will be responsible for performing their security duties at cannabis farm sites.

The full- time position consist of three 12- hour shifts and one 6- hour shift each week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Protect the property both on foot and by vehicle, being visible and observant at all times
  • Maintain the security cellular phone
  • Ensure critical areas of the property are monitored
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all security operations, policies and procedures
  • Perform pat down searches
  • Conduct perimeter patrol, site access control and site surveillance
  • Document security activity using appropriate security forms, always ensuring the work product is concise, accurate and thorough
  • Comply with all Security policies and procedures that pertain to the property
  • Establish and maintain working relationships and provide assistance as requested to managers, supervisors and employees on an ongoing basis to enhance the security and safety of all employees, contractors, etc.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned
  • Delivery confirmation
  • Provide First Aid, if necessary
  • Assist with site evacuation, if necessary
  • Conduct sobriety evaluation, if necessary
  • Perform all duties according to OSHA established health and safety standards
  • Assist the Security Director in training new security personnel
  • EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in the field is preferred
  • CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

  • Valid driver’s license
  • A CPR and First Aid Certification will be required, and education will be provided
  • Military or DOC experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must be over 21 years old and it is preferred the applicant obtain a MED Support badge prior to being hired.

  • Ability to identify and analyze problems with limited information
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well in a timely manner with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences
  • Must be able to work independently and take initiative
  • Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee must possess strength, stamina, and mobility by walking considerable distances at the facility during the course of the work shift to perform duties out of doors in all weather conditions, use of hands and fingers to complete reports, stand for prolonged periods of time in an upright position for continuous periods, bend to lift and move materials with the use of proper equipment, near acuity for clarity of vision at 20 feet or more with or without corrective lenses; vision to read printed materials; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio.
