Quality Assurance Associate

️ Compliance

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Director or the Front Line Manager Coordinator of Compliance Department, the incumbent will support the planning and coordination of all aspects of quality assurance activities at the site level.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist QAP in ensuring adherence to the Company’s QA/QC program including compliance with all aspects of the ACMPR and the Cannabis Act and Regulations
  • Provide Support for Cannabis Act Applications and operational readiness for facility expansion projects
  • Maintain knowledge of the regulations and ongoing changes in the cannabis industry
  • Serve as the point of contact with Health Canada for submitted applications dor updates and changes to applications
  • Develop new standards operating procedures (SOP), as directed by QAP, revise existing SOPs
  • Assist in management of deviation reports and related corrective/preventative actions
  • Assist in investigating all customer complaint process, recalls and adverse reactions
  • Lead and / or support cross functional investigations / projects
  • Assist in self inspections and internal audit program
  • Provide training in aspects of the QA/QC program
  • Assist in development and implementation of Company’s Record Keeping systems
  • Assist QAP when interfacing for regulatory audits and inspections
  • Work closely with the departmental managers to ensure staff are working in compliance with internal policies and procedures, external client expectations and GPPs
  • Update job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Coordinate and perform vendor qualification and compliance audits
  • Provide oversight for QA/QC activities performed by contract testing laboratories and contract manufacturing companies
  • Other duties as required
  • Qualifications

  • BSc or Diploma in chemistry, life sciences, quality systems or related education field
  • 3-5 years experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in a quality management role
  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with the government of Canada
  • Strong understanding the Cannabis Act and Licensed Producer applications under Health Canada
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be capable of being approved by Health Canada as the Company’s Quality Assurance Person after working in the position for one (1) year.
