Processing Technician / Trimmer

The Processing Technician/Trimmer is responsible for properly weighing, manicuring, and inspecting all cannabis flower intended for packaging. This position is an integral piece of the post-harvest process at Sira Naturals, ensuring that only the highest-quality, well-manicured cannabis flower is packaged for sale to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Removing fan leaves and trunks after harvest and in preparation for drying
  • Trimming/manicuring of cannabis flower continuously for shifts of 8 hours in an efficient and quality-focused manner
  • Inspect and weigh cannabis flower, stems, stalks, and fan leaves for input into inventory control software
  • Ensuring quality control post-harvest for a clean, seedless, pest and pathogen free final product
  • Reporting any instances of identifiable occurrence of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Processing Manager
  • Assist Processing Manager with any other tasks related to the post-harvest process as necessary
  • Other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned

    • Qualifications:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high quality product
  • Able/willing to meet target production rates in grams per hour of trimmed A, B, and C cannabis flower buds
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and able/willing to work with small hand tools consistently throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Able/willing to hand/finger manipulate cannabis plant matter over the course of an 8-hour shift
  • Able/wiling to sit/stand for prolonged periods (3-4 hours at a time)
  • Able to pass all background checks as mandated by Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Cannabis Control Commission
  • You MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD to work in the Massachusetts Cannabis Industry

    • Preferred Experience:

  • Experience trimming cannabis plants and flower (or cutting/trimming hair)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Experience working in a factory/continuous production line
  • Familiarity with agricultural hand tools
  • Experience in commercial food production or clean room processes

    • Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required
  • Lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds may be required
  • Work on weekends and alternate shifts may be required
