Nursery Production and Inventory Manager

Nanofarms, Inc., an Ag company, is seeking a highly motivated, skilled nursery production and inventory manager to support the owner and Operation manger. This is a full time position. The position requires a reliable individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask and assist the owner with all stages of the nursery process to include planting, watering, fertilizing, trimming, pruning, and while maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient production area. The manager will also maintain and monitor plant production and quality control measures in compliance with state regulations and the company's SOP. Knowledge of horticulture practices.

Nursery Production

  • Responsible for Develop production plans. Including but not limited to managing propagation, irrigation, fertilization and maintenance schedules.
  • Assist in implementing organic IPM programs for general and specific pests.
  • Implement nursery propagation protocols
  • Responsible for collecting nursery operation and inventory data and maintaining Aitable/ customize Excel sheet/ METRC Track & Trace and all other Compliance database program in all nursery and assisting in the cultivation area.
  • Responsible for updating planting list spreadsheet, plant status inventories.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper records and work with inspectors.
  • Responsible for maintaining your area in compliance, and cleanliness by State regulations and standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the supply of all nursery production materials.
  • Responsible for overseeing and participating in construction and maintenance of nursery facilities.
  • Responsible for monitoring the implementing 5S and standard of daily routing, and provide suggestion to the head of department;
  • Assist in training employees in safety procedures, company policies and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate plant deliveries and deliver plants as required.
  • Procure appropriate potting soil/test and maintain water quality.
  • Completed Pesticide Applicators License preferred
  • Assisting Internal Operation Control Manager to implement system for all internal control.
  • Assisting the nursery manager to oversee and direct all nursery staff and provide detailed job sheets to planting crews. Supporting labors to all cross function departments.
  • Assist in creating all of the nursery SOP.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean, maintained, and safe.
  • Step into other positions as needed to cover for fellow managers and owners.
  • Contract Management

  • Assisting all aspects of multiple production contracts
  • Continuously review the status of current projects and plant materials being grown.
  • Assisting the manager to provide accurate grow times for plants requested by potential contract clients.
  • Assisting the manager to communicate with customers and project managers regarding the status of their contracts.

  • Computer skills:
  • Word Processing, Spreadsheet Software - be able to add data to spreadsheets and run pivot tables in Google docs to pull information
  • Basic Accounting experience preferred
  • B.S./B.A. Degree in Horticulture or an Agricultural related field or sufficient Horticultural experience.
  • Requires a minimum of three years supervisory experience.
  • Possess a valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse/nursery operations and equipment preferred.
