Metrc Compliance/Inventory Specialist

The METRC Compliance /Inventory Specialist will document and facilitate internal regulatory processes for the organization's cultivation, processing, and dispensary licenses, including 3rd party contracts. Must have proven METRC experience. Other duties include license audits, site inspections, license renewals, or registrations/license updates. In addition, the specialist will compile and prepare materials for submission to regulatory agencies, inventory forecasts and sales menu.

Essential Functions

  • Key support with Metrc reporting and compliance.
  • Communicate with regulatory agencies regarding pre-submission strategies, potential regulatory pathways, compliance requirements, or clarification and follow-up of submissions under review.
  • Schedule with and escort state inspectors during inspections and provide post-inspection follow-up information as requested.
  • Coordinate, prepare, or review regulatory submissions for state-specific licensing entities in City/County/State where the company operates.
  • Interpret regulatory rules or rule changes and ensure that they are communicated through corporate policies and procedures, including communication with General Counsel and leadership.
  • Assist with technical review of data or reports that will be incorporated into regulatory submissions to assure scientific rigor, accuracy, and clarity of presentation.
  • Advise leadership on pre-market/pre-inspection/pre-license regulatory requirements, export and labeling requirements, or other regulatory compliance issues.
  • Compile and maintain regulatory documentation databases or systems.
  • Coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.
  • Determine the types of regulatory submissions or internal documentation that are required in situations such as proposed changes in collaboration with the Legal Department.
  • Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents.
  • Obtain and distribute updated information regarding regulations, laws, guidelines, or standards.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of additional information or responses as requested by regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare or maintain technical files as necessary to obtain and sustain license approval.
  • Recommend changes to company procedures in response to changes in regulations or standards.
  • Review and revise protocols to ensure collection of data needed for regulatory submissions.
  • Write or update standard operating procedures, work instructions, or policies.
  • Research and fulfill various legal administrative duties as assigned.
  • Testing coordination and analyzing regulatory deficiencies or complaints and make recommendations regarding their correction
  • Providing inventory Forecasts/Sales Menus
  • Inventory management and reconciliation (Including daily audit check between LeafLink vs METRC vs physical on hand availability
  • Facilitate EOM Inventory (Internal inventory report and audit, state cultivation report, state production reporting)
  • Manage Quality Assurance (errors in packaging/cart creation before entering finished goods state)
  • Reclaim (Consolidation of leftover products/broken items..etc, both physically and virtually)
  • Logging of Daily Inventory, Testing Log, WIP log, Blends Log, Intake Log, Sample Outtakes Logging, etc.
  • Manage Product Returns/ Rejections, Cycle counts/ Re-weighs (Spot Audit), WIP to FIG finalization, and pre labeling checklist verification.
  • Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior experience working with METRC in a regulatory compliance position, familiarity with state regulatory entities, and experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
  • Living in close proximity to Cathedral City, CA ideal.
  • Prior experience in a paralegal or legal administrative position is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization.
  • Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it.
  • Determination and success attitude that emulates fortitude, not taking no for an answer, and finding a way to accomplish what is necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written media.
  • Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the department.
