The mission of our creative team is to become the best cannabis agency in the world, creating a new benchmark for the performance and output of an internal creative team.

The Creative Lead, CBD, will create compelling and memorable creative to solve business needs and support brand building for our CBD brands. The role includes directing an internal creative team, external agencies, and freelancers; collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive innovative ideas that resonate; and be the voice of creative excellence and together with the brand marketing team champion the brands they are responsible for across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of creatives working on our CBD brands and related projects, leading creative development from concept to final execution
  • Ensure all touchpoints created by internal agency and external partners are on brand, coherent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and meet legal and regulatory compliance standards across all channels
  • Manage and mentor the internal creative team, driving the continual improvement of creative department’s quality, thinking and capabilities
  • Champion innovation by introducing new ideas and inspiration to the team and vendors, searching for new engaging ways to visually communicate brand ideas, while driving key business results
  • Present internal creative team concepts to brand marketing team and executives with clarity and conviction
  • Own brand book for assigned brands, maintaining up-to-date guidelines on positioning and verbal and visual identity
  • Serve as the creative evangelist internally and together with the brand team champion our CBD brands throughout the organization
  • Champion our customer, keeping up to date on the latest research and learnings for both targets

  • Experience

  • 8+ years leading, managing, and mentoring a creative team within a creative agency. Experience working with natural health brands required.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strategic brainstorming, campaign development, and creative execution
  • Strong understand of how to take a project from brief to production with limited supervision and adhering to process along the way
  • Work well under pressure, multitask, and think fast on your feet, all while managing multiple clients, projects, and people
  • Have a solution-driven, entrepreneurial spirit that will not settle for anything but the best, and unafraid of the work required to get there
  • Thrive in environments where designs and ideas are thoughtfully challenged in the pursuit of a better outcome
  • Are flexible, optimistic, and believe in creating and further developing a positive work atmosphere
  • Have the ability to receive constructive feedback and provide solutions that uphold the integrity of the main idea

    This is a full time position based out of either Kanata or Toronto.
