Grassroots Cannabis is looking for a legal writer who can become an integral part of our organization and grow with our company. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative and passionate, able to beat deadlines and find answers when it appears there are none.

This newly created role will work to serve as our in-house expert in cannabis law and regulations. This person will also be responsible for managing and filing the necessary paperwork. In addition, this person will participate in writing an array of reports.

Role Responsibilities

Conduct entity formation and manage good standing requirements for legal entities.

Draft outgoing and analyze incoming agreements, such as customer agreements, leases, advisory boards agreements, NDAs, and vendor agreements

Liaise with outside counsel as needed and advise in negotiations as needed

Assist team in various compliance initiatives

Effectively research and become our in-house expert in international regulations pertaining to our business; assist in maintaining compliance

Create and maintain internal legal resources for the team

Interface with internal and external parties regarding review and execution of legal documents

Role Requirements

BA/BS, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience

5+ years of relevant experience

Ability to thoroughly research laws and regulations and effectively communicate to the team

Expertise with Microsoft Office programs

Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible to work in a collaborative structure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
