Lead Grower

️ Cultivation

The Lead Grower, currently reporting to the Director of Cultivation, is responsible for the direct oversight of growing operations, the cultivation facility and staff management

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily cultivation operations for a set of rooms
  • Develop and implement a crop production plan, including nutrient management, irrigation, pest control, environmental control and other crop-specific practices
  • Develop, implement, and train team members on techniques in all areas of propagation, transplanting, pruning, topping, training, fimming, irrigation, fertilization, composting, pest management, disease detection and management, inventory controls and infrastructure maintenance
  • Oversee small team (3-5 members) of intermediate and entry level growers
  • Establish cultivation and production plan and forecast with General Manager and Processing Manager, determining type, quantity and quality of plants for production
  • Inspect crops and growing conditions, monitor quality and take actionto proactively anticipate and address crop-specific issues
  • Recommend budget and implement cultivation management improvements, including plans for Integrated Pest Management (IPM), seed/clone genetics, nutrients and other techniques, materials and/or pesticides
  • Maintain facilities, communicating needs for supplies and equipment and ensuring cleanliness and functionality, in and between, cultivation and processing facilities
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment while following OSHA regulations, organization standards and legal requirements
  • Incorporate risk management strategies for cultivation facility within specific guidelines addressing hazards, such as theft, diversion, tampering, power outages or natural disasters
  • Ensure cultivation of consistent, repeatable, reliable, safe and high-qualityproduct commensurate with market demand
  • Oversee certain trimming and drying functions related to the grow
  • Collaborate with HR to hire diverse staff and contractor teams
  • Ensure state regulation compliance
  • Establish cultivation goals and objectives ensuring delivery in a timely manner
  • Accountable for purchases and expense of cultivation-related consumables
  • Participate in cultivation education for industry best practices
  • Serve as part of Internal Recall Team in the event of a voluntary or mandatory recall
  • Requirements:

  • Must have experience in large scale grow operations as a cultivator in PA or other states
  • Must not have any convictions for any drug violations or felonies
