Laboratory Technician

️ Testing

Core Responsibilities:

  • Understands and adheres to strict PharmLabs' Standard Operating Procedures regarding California compliance and quality testing of cannabis and cannabis products;
  • Complies with and supports continuous improvement of the ISO 17025 accredited laboratory Quality Management System;
  • Conducts analytical laboratory investigations, experiments and/or research activities, applies statistical techniques to validate methods, analyzes testing data, and prepares a report of findings;
  • Utilizes solvent extraction, solid phase extraction and sample preparation techniques for cannabinoid analysis.
  • Adds internal standards, prepares quality control samples, and conducts other quality control functions;
  • Performs system suitability checks, preventive maintenance, and calibrates analytical instrumentation.
  • Processes, organizes and summarizes data and computerized results of analysis through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS);
  • Consults with the Laboratory Director to develop and implement new laboratory methods, techniques, and protocols;
  • Assists Laboratory Director with special studies in sample preparation;
  • Prepares and conducts quality checks on laboratory equipment;
  • Assists in the security and cleanliness of laboratory and equipment;
  • Conducts supply inventory to ensure availability of consumable laboratory materials;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of hands-on experience in regulated food safety, clinical, forensic, environmental, or cannabis analytical laboratories
  • Holds a Bachelors degree in chemistry or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience with HPLC
  • ISO/IEC 17025:2005 management system experience
  • Method development experience
  • Equipment and method validation experience
  • MUST have a positive attitude
  • Experience:

  • HPLC: 2 years (Preferred)
  • laboratory: 2 years (Required)
  • cannabis: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Education: Bachelor's (Required)
