Constance Therapeutics is looking for a passionate and professional individual to fill the role of Laboratory Technician. We are looking for an individual who will be working on a variety of laboratory/production tasks. This individual must be detail oriented, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to change priorities and tasks as needed. Must be motivated, trustworthy, and a team player. Must be open to working in a start-up environment. The Lab Technician will be responsible for safely and effectively converting cannabis raw material into medicinal cannabis extracts, and formulating the extract into ingestible products, vapor fluids, and topical products. As this is a start-up environment, individual must be open to completing other tasks outside Laboratory. This may include general recordkeeping, packaging/shipping items, etc.
Requirements:
Proficiency in English
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, G Suite, Salesforce
Excellent communication and documentation skills, attention to detail, efficiency in executing given tasks in a timely manner
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, concentrations, dilution factors
Ability to stay positive and focused on repetitive production tasks, daily
Previous work in production or manufacturing environment
Previous experience working in a lab and/or clean room setting
Cannabis knowledge is preferred, but not required (specifically ethanol extraction)
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, crouch and kneel
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
Job duties:
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Receive all incoming shipments, including keeping detailed records of raw materials
Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps
Inventory and purchasing requests for laboratory equipment and supplies
Carry out cannabinoid concentrate refining processes to completion with clear and well defined labeling to ensure absolute traceability throughout the process
Keep equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance
Product formulation, filling and manufacturing procedures in an efficient manner that also complies with FDA GMP's, OSHA regulations, SOP's and all applicable laboratory procedures
Promptly and accurately completes all recordkeeping assignments including entering and maintaining inventory metrics in collaboration with the Lab QA/QC Manager
Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and organizing
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized work environment
Stays up to date on industry knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
Open to tasks, outside the lab to help the company as this is a start-up environment.
30 - 40 hour work week
This role would be ideal for someone with a laboratory/production background interested in breaking into the Cannabis industry. While cannabis extraction specific knowledge is a huge plus, all of our methodologies can be learned by an adept lab tech.
