Laboratory Director

We are looking for a laboratory director to oversee all scientific operations in our Boulder laboratory. The job will include significant administrative and regulatory compliance duties.

The Laboratory Director will:

  • Oversee all scientific operations at the laboratory
  • Oversee all scientific personnel, including hiring, training and professional development
  • Ensure that all data generated by the scientific team meet quality control requirements
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including safety, environmental and documentation requirements within the laboratory
  • Ensure an environment of open communication and continual improvement
  • Identify and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve laboratory workflow and data quality
  • Ensure proper planning for growth and for technology upgrades and transitions

    • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must hold an MD or a PhD in a natural science and have three years’ laboratory experience in a regulated laboratory environment performing analytical scientific testing in which the testing methods were recognized by an accrediting body, or a master’s degree in a natural science and five years’ such experience. No exceptions can be made to these requirements.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have prior supervisory experience
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Significant experience with HPLC, GC, GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS instrumentation a strong plus
  • Experience with operating in an ISO17025, CLIA or similar accredited environment a plus
  • Must pass an extensive background security check and must be able to obtain a Colorado Department of Revenue – Marijuana Enforcement Division key license prior to or at the time of hire
  • Must have excellent references
