Job Summary:

A Laboratory Assistant will participate in an integrated manufacturing team aimed at producing the highest quality cannabis extracts for our brand and customers. Individual will be trained in and responsible for assisting in all aspects of manufacturing.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Assistant works as part of a team to support the laboratory processes.

  • Cleaning, organizing and maintaining a safe lab environment
  • Lab equipment operation and maintenance
  • Coordination of lab waste removal services
  • Data input into compliance systems and management tracking platforms
  • Extraction, mechanical grinding of biomass, solvent transfer systems
  • Operation of rotary evaporators
  • Distillation and proprietary processing techniques
  • Preparation of materials for all steps of processing
  • Laboratory materials and inventory management
  • Quality control and sample submissions to external testing laboratory
  • Requirements:

  • Individuals in this role will be required to multi-task and offer help with workload where and when needed which may occur outside of laboratory duties at times.
  • Position requires learning new techniques and a willingness to help implement them as the company grows. Requires ability to use common tools for effective (scientific) communication within the company.
  • Individual will work independently and as a team member to accomplish manufacturing goals and have frequent communication with team on production status, results, concerns and ideas.
  • Problem solving skills required as well as strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Occasional lifting of 15-35 lbs required.
  • A minimum of 1-year laboratory experience preferred and a BS or BA and/or relevant experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
  • An ideal candidate would have experience with precision manufacturing equipment.
  • This role requires an individual who is analytical, reflective, disciplined, and who prefers formality and understands the importance for structure, rules, regulatory compliance, and who is comfortable with this.
