Laboratory Assistant

ChemHistory LLC Laboratory is seeking multiple part-time Laboratory Assistants to facilitate the processing and disposal of analytical samples, prepare all materials for various extraction assays, and laboratory maintenance. Students seeking a degree in chemistry, biology, geology or physics are highly encouraged to apply. Typical responsibilities for this position include:

  • Maintain scientific ethics and integrity
  • Adhere to TNI and NELAC laboratory standards and practices
  • Keep a daily record of environmental conditions
  • Maintain working stock of supplies for extraction laboratory
  • Sample intake, processing, and disposal
  • Volumetric measurement of solvents
  • Keep the equipment and work environment tidy
  • Handling of potentially hazardous solvents
  • Wearing the appropriate PPE while in the laboratory space
  • Being able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs for short distances
  • Preparation of materials for extraction procedures
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Must be +21 years old
  • Associates Degree in Chemistry or any related laboratory-based scientific field OR 2+ years towards a 4-year degree in any related laboratory-based scientific field
  • Desired Qualities:

  • Experience working in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with ISO, NELAC, TNI, or CLIA
  • Team player
  • Self-starter
  • Compensation: Pay for this position will start at $12-14 an hour. Medical, vision, and dental after a 60-day probational period 1 hr vacation time for every 30 hrs worked 7 laboratory holidays Weekly provided lunch
