Lab Technician

Job Purpose: to facilitate the extraction and refinement of CO2 oil from bulk cannabis material and incorporation of this oil into packaged products

Responsibilities Extraction:

  • Prepares cannabis material for co2 extraction
  • Accurately measures physical characteristics (using standard tools including scales, rulers and gauges)
  • Accurately records detailed data throughout the manufacturing process
  • Prepares extractor by packing cannabis material into extraction vessel, cleaning of extractor, parts and performance of routine maintenance tasks before and after runs.
  • Collects crude oil during/after the extraction process
  • Refines crude oil using equipment and practices common in chemical/food manufacturing
  • Organizes and maintains a clean workstation and overall lab environment
  • Responsibilities Packaging:

  • Proper setup and operation of filling, solid dose manufacturing, packaging and labeling equipment. Troubleshoot and learn to repair equipment as needed.
  • Help monitor and manage processing equipment supplies and inventory.
  • Executing all filling and packaging procedures in an efficient manner in compliance with SOP’s and all applicable manufacturing procedures.
  • Packaging which requires an employee to place product in bags, label, heat seal and prepare material for transport, to be delivered to dispensaries.
  • Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Ability to pass an OSBI background check
  • Interest applicants need to be able to consistently work minimum 15 hours per week
  • Interested applicants must have a careful attention to detail while simultaneously assuring speed and efficiency to maintain desired production goals. Additionally, applicants must work well in a team environment, maintain focus during repetitive tasks

  • Willing and able to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment
  • Willing and able to safely work on/around sensitive equipment which may be operating at high pressures and extreme temperatures
  • Willing and able to safely handle common tools
  • Familiar with basic manufacturing best practices
  • Willing and able to safely lift objects up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
  • Familiar with the effective use of standard safety equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, face masks, and gloves
  • Willing and able to safely handle cannabis material and other sensitive substances, without significant material losses, at all stages of the extraction and refinement process. This includes the handling of finely ground plant material, harsh solvents and psychoactive concentrated oils
  • Willing and able to follow detailed written operating procedures
  • Experience:

  • Prior extraction or cannabis industry experience is preferred, but not required
  • General chemistry and lab knowledge is preferred, but not required.
  • Mechanical Maintenance background preferred, but not required.
