Lab Analytical Chemist & Quality Control Tech

Encore Labs is looking for a lab analytical chemist/quality control technician who has strong background in analytical chemistry and worked in previous laboratory environments, preferably in the cannabis testing environment or food testing environment. Working in previous ISO 17025 lab environments is also a huge plus. Candidate will need to be familiarized with instrumentation such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS-MS + other industry related equipment for cannabis sample testing for pesticide testing, residual solvents, potency, mycotoxins, heavy metals & microbial testing. Candidate must also understand how to improve laboratory flow efficiency from sample receiving to data analysis and to implement any methodologies/SOP's that can improve efficiency.

The position will be a hybrid role of operating the testing instruments as well as assisting with the quality control division with documentation, SOP's, METRCS, etc.

General Duties:

Perform required analyses and overseeing day to day operational aspects and testing procedures

Assist with quality control on documentation, SOP's and ensuring all lab testing is following ISO 17026 guidelines

Create and implement new analytical testing methodologies, method development, method validation and SOPS that can increase lab efficiency from sample prep to QA test analysis

Monitoring performance data and the validity of the analyses for the laboratory;

Ensure and work under frameworks of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO 17025

Provide and establish all proper documentation for best laboratory testing practices & update as necessary

Analyze data via LIMS software for trends to create research reports

Flexibility, preparedness to adjust to rapidly developing priorities and carry multiple responsibilities in a start-up environment

Qualifications

Laboratory instrumentation experience (5+ years) with Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo-Scientific or Sciex

Cannabis sample processing and testing preferred or food safety/environmental lab background

Experience in Analytical Chemistry

Bachelors in the Sciences (preferably Biological Science, Horticulture, Organic Chemistry);

Experience in working in previous ISO 17025 environment

Experience in HPLC (ideally 5+ years)

Experience in GC/MS (ideally 5+ years)

Experience in Pesticide Testing (LC-MS-MS) (ideally 3+ years)
