Kitchen Assistant/Cook

Education/Experience:
Must be serv safe certified.
Post-secondary Culinary Arts program training, bakery/pastries preferred.
Recent culinary experience – including confections, baking, recipe-development, food service operations, or 2-4 Years of equivalent experience as a large production line cook, or large production bakery setting.
Ability to use basic math skills in working, measuring ingredients. Serve Safe Certification and Allergen Awareness training required.
Experience in the marijuana industry, preferred.
Responsibilities:
Production of baked goods, confections, chocolate, caramels, hard candy baking/ molding.
Ensures accurate and appropriate storage, production schedules, appropriate sizing/dosing for packaging.
Ensures accurate recipe formulations, adaptations or conversions as needed. Is compliant with food safety and sanitation requirements.
Ability to demonstrate competency in recipe execution and product consistency.
Work closely with the Chef and other team members on all elements of production and final product.
Physical capability:
Equipment operations including convection oven, mixer, scaling.
Ability to read and interpret recipes written in English.
Able to lift up to 30lbs unassisted. 50lbs with assistance, stoop, and bend frequently.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms per certain job tasks.
Ability to work independently within a team environment.
Skills:
Close attention to detail, accurate record-keeping abilities, and ability to work independently within a team environment.
Must have the ability to multi-task and have good hand-eye coordination.
Equipment operations including convection oven, mixer, scaling.
