Field Sales Specialist

Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, Prairies, the Field Sales Specialist, Calgary will be asked to contribute in three key ways; Firstly, High Park will be known for delivering THE best customer service to our retail partners. This will be achieved by executing a consistent and high-quality retailer call cycle. The outcome will be identifying retailer objectives that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes and allow for High Park to be positioned as the brand of preference. Secondly, you will be asked to be an active contributor to the development of the regional sales plan. The best ideas come from people who are connected to both customers and consumers. The culture of the team depends on people taking an active role in helping shape the strategy as the category evolves and changes. Lastly, you will be a passionate brand ambassador for High Park brands. Whether delivering energetic and engaging training sessions, to identifying community involvement, all team members will play a role in ensuring the High Park reputation flourishes across Canada.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Create and execute territory action plans that address and prioritize growth opportunities within a geography
  • Execute and maintain a customer visit routine that reinforces High Parks goal of delivering best in class service to the industry
  • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on prospective customers and potential business development opportunities
  • Be motivated by delivering results against a specific set of targets
  • Deliver routine customer and consumer facing brand training events at store level
  • Observe and analyze sales intelligence reports and extract key observations that will allow for a targeted sales approach to the territory
  • Deliver concise and specific monthly performance reviews to regional leadership
  • Identify new partnership opportunities as the customer set grows within your specific region
  • Work to maintain preferred shelf positioning in store by leveraging category insights and retailing best practices
  • Work with retailers to maintain adequate inventory levels across the full brand portfolio effectively eliminating the risk of out of stocks
  • Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing or a relevant field
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry, cannabis strains, terpenes, and cannabinoids (asset)
  • 3 years of B2B sales experience in packaged goods, beverage, alcohol or pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis including overnight and/or weekend travel
  • Excellent communication skills (Written, Spoken and Comprehension)
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Energetic and highly motivated to exceed sales targets
  • Reliable transportation, driver’s license and excellent driving record
