Facilities Maintenance Technician

Phylos Bioscience has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, organized Facilities Maintenance Technician based in Portland, Oregon. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for site maintenance, building maintenance, lab maintenance and other general equipment repairs or installation. Please note this position requires availability on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance agriculture site
  • Perform identified preventive maintenance on equipment and report any maintenance needs
  • Perform janitorial and landscaping activities
  • Assist in minor plumbing repairs
  • Participate in all required pieces of training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Facility maintenance/repair experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance.
  • Grounds maintenance experience.
  • Must be available on weekends.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Good analytical/critical thinking ability.
  • Familiar with safety regulations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, grasp, feel and use repetitive motion.
  • Need to be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • May be required to wear steel-toed boots, protective eye-wear, hearing protection, and other job-specific PPE. Must be prepared to work in outdoors during inclement weather and have the ability to travel by car.
