Extraction Technician

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic full-time Extraction Technicianwho share our passion for quality medicine for patients who need them. Our Cultivation Center, located in Cidra, Puerto Rico, operates seven days per week.

Position Overview

An Extraction Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space, help create new extraction processes exceeding quality control standards, work on SOPs development, working effectively and participative as a member of the team. This position requires being able to pay close attention to detail, must be comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic work space.

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Follow Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with Puerto Rico medical cannabis laws and regulations
  • Maintains extractions operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures
  • Work closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process
  • Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction
  • Develop expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
  • Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product always, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking
  • Facilitating and coordinating the operational requirements between in the production workflow
  • Responsible for accurately weighing and recording all product weights
  • Works in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintain accuracy
  • Make sure that all concentrates are packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately
  • Manages day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Requirements

  • Master’s in Chemistry, Manufacturing or equivalent preferred, Bachelor's required or a combination of education and experience preferred
  • Experience in various cannabis testing or formulation methods preferred
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to interact professionally always, leading by example
  • Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about the importance of medical marijuana
  • Preferred: Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral
  • Experience and Education:

    Possession of a master’s degree, preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry or similar field and three to five years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis.

    In compliance with the Puerto Rico Medicinal Cannabis Program all employees of the Company who come in contact with or handle medicinal cannabis, including medicinal cannabis infusion products, must be at least 21 years of age and will be subject to a fingerprinting process as part of a criminal history background check in compliance with the procedures established by Division of Criminal Justice Services, a Puerto Rico valid ID or valid passport, among others requirements designated by the Department of Health of Puerto Rico.
