Extraction & Refinement Manager

This position is responsible for all resin extraction and refinement processes. The Manager of Extraction and Refinement will lead a team to meet demand of current and future products.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Responsible for scheduling and overseeing all oil extraction and refinement processes
  • Optimizing the processing equipment to ensure all product is produced
  • Managing, scheduling staff and allocating manpower within processing department
  • Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators
  • Collaborate with R&D on design and execution of new processing techniques to improve current yields and meet demand of future products
  • Manages, directs and through startup initially provides all extraction and refinement of cannabis to consistently produce high-quality concentrates
  • Master various techniques for cannabis extraction and infusion
  • Design product mix in conjunction with other business functions as it relates to extractable material
  • Ensure compliance with Federal regulations and testing requirements; develops SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes
  • Ensuring all documentation records are recorded accurately and timely for all functions within the department
  • Ensuring personnel adhere to and follow SOPs set out for department functions
  • Ensuring processing deadlines are adhered to
  • Maintains cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the production area
  • Provides consistent oversight of extraction procedures, lab budgets, ensuring standardized requirements and accuracy
  • Develop extraction department organizational chart, work flow, and step by step process and procedure for training module
  • Prepare inventory reports to ensure products are available, on point and in demand
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, including material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products
  • Ensure accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately
  • Develop and/or support quality and product safety training programs
  • Design product specifications for all current and future finished products.
  • Calibrate and audit all quality systems, documentation, results and testing to maintain compliance and consistency
  • Proactively monitor industry trends and new developments to develop programs, policy and procedure for compliance with product safety, quality and analytics
  • Must be a team player with ability to work and lead in a lightning-fast-paced environment with multi-functional groups
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc or MSc - Chemical Engineering
  • Expertise in CO2 and Ethanol extraction methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
  • ‪At least 2 years working with CO2 and Ethanol extraction in a production environment
  • GMP experience is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • ‪Experience training and mentoring laboratory technicians and scientists with techniques for analysis and good laboratory practices
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond to changing trends and priorities
  • Ability to work in and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Experience: management: 1 year (Required)
