The Ethanol Extraction Technician is a salaried position responsible for working in the lab and performing supervised and unsupervised extraction, distillation, chromatography and isolating production. The ideal candidate is an individual with experience working in a lab environment. Though it’s not required, those with some hemp or cannabis specific extraction experience will be given preference.
Candidates must be familiar with state regulations and restrictions and know how to operate in a GMP/ISO lab environment. Candidates will also be legally eligible to work in the USA and have a clean background.
Candidates should be comfortable around technology, computer systems and operational equipment.
As a technician, you should exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with your colleagues to accomplish your tasks. You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding production quotas, product quality, and client service goals.
Most of all, a great candidate will exhibit a can-do attitude, show the ability to solve problems, work carefully and get the job done!
Detail of Responsibilities:
Perform all ethanol extraction, thin film distillation, chromatography and isolating reactor production efforts in an efficient manner that complies with applicable laboratory procedures.
Organize, enter data, and transfer material using a Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
Carefully handle product tracking, product security, and product movement.
Manage testing procedures; such as preparing, samples, record keeping, scheduling and communicating with testing companies.
Contribute to new product and process development.
Maintain laboratory equipment performance for service and repair.
Operate on schedule; meeting volume, cost and quality goals.
Performing all technical procedures adhering to the operation, technical, and quality control policies and guidelines.
Regular cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment and facility to keep laboratory and all other working areas in pristine conditions.
Understand and follow procedures on workplace safety and hazardous chemicals handling. Set an example in ensuring a safe work environment that adheres to and exceeds regulatory guidelines.
Other related duties as assigned by management.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Ethanol Extraction Lab Manager for the company.
Qualifications:
Minimum high school education.
Physically capable of performing the duties required.
Must be physically able to perform the duties.
Communicate clearly both written and verbal, and operate in a careful and diligent manner.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems such as SAP.
Experience:
Prior hands-on laboratory experience
Experience with ethanol extraction, distillation, chromatography, and isolation experience
Experience with hemp or cannabis extraction will be considered an asset
