Distributor Manager

The Distributor Manager is the link between our sales teams and the distributors that carry our products and thrives on driving sales/business development and building strong relationships. This is a dynamic position requiring the ability to focus on ongoing goals, objectives and management of the details associated with day to day retail sales overall and business development for our distributors. The Distributor Manager is responsible for maintaining existing business as well as generating new business opportunities for our portfolio of brands and products within their key buyers at category/supplier managers at specialty and natural distributors across the US. You will work closely with the Director of Sales and the sales team in building out distributor business that supports and drives retail execution. As a Distributor Manager, you will be part of a highly engaged, high performing, collaborative and fun sales team. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaison between sales teams (and the retailers they call on) and the following distributors, but not limited to; UNFI, KeHE, Select Nutrition, Threshold, Palko, Frontier, Lotus Light, Super Natural.
  • Grow sales volume and brand penetration for Manitoba products in designated distributors by developing new business, broader distribution of products and supporting the sales team in penetrating existing accounts across distribution channels.
  • Develop and implement plan for distributors based on established revenue goals and company objectives, and manages all trade spending within authorized funding
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with broker partners.
  • Regular meetings (as business demands) with supplier managers/category managers/buyers at distributor partners.
  • Maintain relationships with key personnel at all distributors.
  • Promotional Planning for our full portfolio of brands and products at each distributors – with the goal being to align distributor plans as closely as is possible.
  • Problem solving/solution finding for manufacturers and distributors when necessary.
  • Responsible for all distributor submissions; including, but not limited to new items, promotions, advertising vehicles, product changes, price changes, etc.
  • Communicate results from all distributor meetings and/or dialog to the appropriate sales teams/member regarding issues, successes or other relevant information.
  • Attend regional distributor trade show tabletops.
  • Meet or exceed all departmental deadlines.
  • Develop demand forecasts by distributor and provide weekly and quarterly sales updates to Sales Director and Sales Leadership Team
  • Other duties as assigned by the organization
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Entrepreneurial Sales/Distributor Manager with at least 5 years of Business natural/specialty Distributor/Sales experience, with a keen focus on development and expansion of territories and distribution channels.
  • Experience at having successfully developed and expanded retail and distribution in CPG/Food & Beverage.
  • Ability to collaborate and think entrepreneurially
  • Must understand the trends within your responsibilities; including who the competitors are, competitive pricing, and market trends.
  • Recognized ability to successfully grow sales revenue and strong customer satisfaction that align with the company’s goals, aspirations and strategies.
  • Ability to create and manage forecast, budget and sale plan for assigned accounts in an expanding market.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and thrive in an extremely fast-paced and ambiguous environment that requires flexibility, adaptability and being scrappy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and close business in meetings.
  • Skilled in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, and Word)
  • BS/BA required.
  • Domestic and International travel is required throughout your designated territory up to 60%
