The Dispensary Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the dispensary by overseeing and directing all day-to-day operations, including managing Patient Care Specialists. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, strong interpersonal and management abilities, a problem solving and can-do attitude, high attention to detail, solid administrative/clerical and time management skills. Importantly, the Dispensary Manager is responsible for upholding the mission and values of the company and ensuring that his/her team delivers Member Service Excellence at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Dispensary Manager include interacting with, educating, and advising members face-to-face and by phone on all products and services; record-keeping; monitoring inventory and cash management; interacting with local service providers and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming facility, inside and out. The Dispensary Manager is also responsible for scheduling, overseeing and coaching the day-to-day duties of the Patient Care Specialists.
Net, the cannabis dispensary manager must ensure that the dispensary is operational and that all functions including product receipt, inventory management/storage and sales are completed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the state of Maryland and company standards.
Serves as a professional role model and resource for dispensary staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news and advising on any changes in regulations.
Delivers a superior level of customer service, both in person and on the phone; coaches and inspires Patient Care Specialists on commitment to Member Service Excellence.
Responds and appropriately addresses all complaints, concerns, suggestions to the members' satisfaction and takes appropriate actions – while upholding company standards - when necessary to resolve conflict.
Implements and maintains the highest level of compliance at all times and ensures all approved Company policies and procedures (especially Legal) are strictly followed
Evaluates all dispensary processes to achieve maximum efficiency and continuous improvement including inventory and cash management (daily & weekly); consistently maintaining accurate records of all activities in accordance with the state of Maryland and company standards. Responsible for training Patient Care Specialists on proper cash handling, inventory management, etc.
Approaches difficult conversations with employees with diplomacy and tact; requests guidance from senior management and Human Resources; when handling delicate employee relations situations
Effectively leads state inspectors through announced or unannounced inspections.
Maintains a clean, safe, positive and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.
Attends at least one community outreach event per quarter; is a brand ambassador, both during and outside of regularly scheduled work hours
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred
4+ years' experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry – growth-centered retail background preferred
2+ years' experience in a management role (building a profitable business and effectively leading a team to success; lead by example). Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Highly skilled in building a profitable business
Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges
Computer & equipment operations necessary for adeptly running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
Familiarity with history and varieties of medical cannabis preferred, but not required
Outstanding phone, email, and in-person customer service skills/business etiquette
Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in a positive and didactic manner
Skilled in performing job duties in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stay even keeled in periods of stress
Demonstrated proactivity, flexibility, adaptability, and multi-tasking
Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical conduct; absolute reliability and integrity (e.g., accurate cash management & inventory control, etc).
Ability to effectively plan and prioritize with focus and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in both leading and being part of a team

Must pass a background check and all requirements to receive a badge in the state of Maryland
