Cultivation Technician

Grassroots Cannabis is looking for a Cultivation Technician who can become an integral part of our organization and grow with our company. The ideal candidate is proactive, innovative and passionate, able to beat deadlines and find answers when it appears there are none.

This newly created role will work to assist with all aspects of the company's cultivation operation from seedling to harvest and will support the cultivation team in the production of top-quality cannabis. The Cultivation Technician will execute operations pertaining to plant care such as pruning, transplanting and up-potting, watering, feeding, ensuring environmental control, and inspecting plants for signs of deficiency or infestation.

Role Responsibilities

Understand Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s)

Safely and effectively set-up, operate and take-down all production equipment

Sanitize and set-up all production materials required for cloning, transplanting, up-potting de-leafing and harvesting

Properly remove waste material such as root-balls, foliar application waste and cannabis waste

Participate in various production activities and coordination of grow operations for designated plant growth stages

Frequently monitor environmental control levels, including temperature, humidity, moisture as well as water and nutrition levels

Daily inspection of plants to ensure there are no infections or pathogens

Move cannabis between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner

Document plant progression through life cycles

Ensure all equipment and rooms (grow, processing, dry and production rooms) have been cleaned and sterilized according to SOPs requirements; re-stocking & facility maintenance

Role Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Botany, Horticulture or in related field or a combination of relevant education with experience

Previous cultivation and labor experience

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible to work in a collaborative structure and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong understanding of cultivation and production techniques

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to stay focused and complete redundant and routine tasks

Long periods of prolonged standing and sitting

Knowledge of cannabis plant anatomy, strains, pathogens and infections is a plus

Impeccable attention to detail in skilled & precision work
