Chief Operating Officer

️ Executive

The COO reports directly to the Companys CEO and is responsible for designing and implementing diverse business strategies, plans, and procedures. The COO will establish and update all operational policies and procedures to ensure the Company is efficient and effective in achieving all business goals, company vision, and company culture. The COO acts as a liaison between the management team and the CEO. Were looking for an experienced and efficient leader who has cannabis industry experience managing diverse business operations including cultivation, production, brand management, and retail. Were looking for someone with excellent people skills, who values the importance of creating a culture where employees excel and feel valued.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact seamlessly with the CEO and Founder to understand strategic priorities and creatively identify and execute plans to lead the company
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight, management, and vision to our entire organization.
  • Responsible for driving our company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight and management to all departments: Cultivation, Production, Processing, Branding, Finance, Community Outreach, Sustainability Practices
  • Analyze and create systems and business operations
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Develop and implement department budgets
  • Allocate the resources Department Heads need, such as funds, labor and equipment, to ensure they meet their goals
  • Conduct regular meetings with Department Heads to remain up to date on the status of each area of the company
  • Remain up to date on cannabis legislation
  • Build a solid network in the cannabis industry through attending networking events and educational events.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Project Management (PMP) Certification a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or nutraceuticals industry and proven experience as a successful Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
  • Experience overseeing daily operations of a cannabis cultivation facility
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Experience creating/refining processes for a high-growth company
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, business development and driving revenue ·
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Highly effective third-party vendor management
  • Inventory management, manufacturing, and logistics experience is a plus
  • Passion for creating and maintaining sustainable, waste-free systems
  • Able to pass a background and credit check

  • PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

    The ideal candidate will be an upbeat, charismatic executive with very strong communications and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working as part of a team in a non-political organization structure. This executive will be a good high-level strategic thinker but will be energized by the practical activities required to make things happen. The successful Chief Operating Officer will be able to manage multiple tasks: handling urgent matters without ever losing sight of mid-and long-term planning, and will take an entrepreneurial approach to the business, bringing a creative spark and fresh thinking to how the Company can grow and expand.
