The Business Operations Analyst eats, sleeps, and breathes data. This person must be a motivated self-starter with a knack for understanding complex business requirements and how the data can be used to create clarity in decision making through all levels of management. The Business Operations Analyst should have a strong appetite for learning new skills and new applications of existing skills with the flexibility to execute when only some parameters are known.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify user needs from user requests and develop strategies by which to meet those needs.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources and clearly indicate quality of final analysis.
  • Communicate complex data in comprehensible ways.
  • Determine, implement, and evaluate business metrics to meet ongoing organizational or customer information needs.
  • Analyze and report on complex data to meet customer needs.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline tasks in Airflow, Python/Bash
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Must pass a background check through the San Jose Police Department
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or technical field such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Intermediate SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
