Benefits Manager

Curaleaf's employee benefits manager will; analyze, design and administer employee benefits programs, such as medical, dental, life and disability insurance plans and 401(k), pensions, etc. You will analyze Curaleaf's existing benefits programs and compare them to those of competing employers. They can design new benefits programs or modify existing ones and implement these changes in order to ensure that Curaleaf's programs remain competitive. Employee benefits managers are also responsible for educating human resources personnel or employees about benefits packages and administering leaves of absences and bonus programs. The manager is responsible for ensuring coordination and communication with several cross-functional groups to ensure potential and actual changes are proactively discussed and agreed to.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to all benefits related processes, policies and programs
  • Participate in cross functional teams related to strategic planning and process improvement
  • Ensure benefit offerings align with overall culture of the organization
  • Supporting the development of the benefits budget specific to Health & Wellness program's
  • Reviews variance and engage with Finance to mitigate and manage risk
  • Works with consultants and vendors in partnership with HR Shared Services
  • Negotiates services and costs with vendors to minimize expenses
  • Reviews effectiveness of programs and services and reports these results to Senior Management
  • Leads team providing guidance, financial and budgetary direction and people management
  • Align benefit program communications with overall HR and organization communication strategies.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Human Resources or other related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in benefits; at least three (4) years in a lead benefits role, including people management
  • CEBS certification preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Tactical expertise and knowledge of benefits systems, processes and tools gained through a career of increasing responsibility in benefits
  • Strategic expertise and knowledge of benefits governance, plan design, laws and regulations, related financials, legal, regulatory, and fiduciary requirements, benefit program administration, global risk pooling and enrollment processes
  • Experience conducting benefits due diligence and integration for M&A
  • Demonstrated experience managing a substantial benefit plan budget
  • Requires 3+ years of managerial experience
