The Farmacy - Santa Barbara

The Farmacy is proposing to operate one adult use commercial cannabis storefront retail business in the City of Santa Barbara at 128 West Mission Street. Graham Farrar is the founder, owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the business. (Farrar is the sole responsible party, as defined by the City.) Farrar first developed the concept of “The Farmacy” in 2016. At the time, there were no legal, professional cannabis retail locations to serve the residents of Santa Barbara. This is still true today. The Farmacy team carefully developed this application after studying deficiencies (e.g. parking and neighborhood compatibility) in previous medical applications in Santa Barbara. Mr. Farrar has been developing and refining the business and operating plan for The Farmacy for over two years. He is excited for the opportunity to operate one of the first high quality, licensed adult use cannabis retail business in the City. 

The Farmacy is committed to providing the safest and highest-quality cannabis products to the residents of Santa Barbara, with a focus on sourcing locally and sustainably grown cannabis. The Farmacy will resemble an Apple store, with a minimalistic, clean and modern aesthetic. The staff will be extremely knowledgeable about each cannabis product for sale, as well as each product’s health and wellness benefits. Customer safety will be the first and foremost priority. We have implemented exhaustive measures to secure the facility and prevent diversion. All employees will be experts in compliance with local and State laws and serve as the “face” of the new, legal industry. 

Staff will be valued members of The Farmacy “family,” and provided with ongoing opportunities for professional development and compensation above and beyond the industry standard. The Farmacy will prioritize transparency with the City of Santa Barbara, as well as the residents and customers. The CEO will be guided by an Advisory Committee made up of local Santa Barbara leaders from a variety of diverse sectors. The leadership team will work diligently with nearby businesses and residents to facilitate a seamless integration into the neighborhood. The Farmacy team looks forward to initiating a variety of community partnerships with a focus on preventing youth access, providing discounted cannabis to cancer patients and encouraging cannabis use as an alternative to addictive opioids.
