About Sono-Tek Corporation

Founded in 1975 by Dr. Harvey Berger, inventor of the Ultrasonic Nozzle, Sono-Tek designs and manufactures precision ultrasonic coating systems used for thin film coating, spray drying, moisturizing, web coating, fine line and selective coating applications.

Sono-Tek creates a clear alternative to typical coating technologies by combining cutting edge technology, applications expertise, and a true passion for the coating process. We care deeply about our customers’ success, and it shows in our dedication to understanding our customers’ needs.

Sono-Tek designs, builds, installs and services ultrasonic coating systems for R&D through high volume manufacturing operations worldwide. We have replaced or improved thousands of inefficient traditional coating methods in industries such as printed circuit board fluxing, electronics photoresist deposition, medical device coatings, and nanocoatings onto glass and textiles. In recent years, we have introduced our ultrasonic technology into many new markets by leveraging our unique technologies, vast application knowledge, and strong engineering team. For us, always developing means we are constantly finding new applications that benefit from our unique technology.

Our ultrasonic nozzle systems operate by converting high frequency sound waves into mechanical vibrations to create nano to micron think coatings with very high uniformity and excellent transfer efficiency, minimizing overspray of expensive chemistries. The droplets produced by ultrasonic atomization are mathematically defined according to the nozzle's operating frequency, and feature very tight drop distribution. The soft, low velocity nature of ultrasonic spray is highly controllable and adheres to surfaces with little bounceback. Unlike pressure nozzles, ultrasonic nozzles will not clog. These benefits result in significant savings for our customers in raw materials, water and energy usage, and exhaust requirements.
