The new Small Batch store at 711 Lisbon St. is for “artisanal crafted cannabis,” according to a news release for its grand opening Saturday.
The new business is at the former Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion, which closed in 2015.
Paul Clark, an extractionist working there, said the 8,000-square-foot space is set up with a window that looks onto one of several grow rooms that let the public see about 16 plants.
“We’re very transparent with what we’re doing,” he said.
Owner Phil Fournier, a registered caregiver, is a University of Maine horticulture grad, Clark said, and his philosophy with the shop is to educate the public. Only people with medical marijuana cards from the state can make a purchase, but anyone can come inside...
