Manny Munson-Regala, is the principal at Root Cause Consulting LLC, a policy/regulatory-consulting firm.

He brings his 30 plus years of expertise in solving business issues with regulatory/legislative components to both private and public sector clients. Previous experience includes serving as an executive leader, advocate, compliance leader or as an appointed regulator. He has worked for large and small institutions including several insurers, a benefit management firm and a medical cannabis manufacturer. His public sector experience includes senior leadership posts with the Minnesota Departments of Health, Minnesota Management and Budget and the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

With strong subject matter expertise in insurance (all lines) and health policy (e.g. Affordable Care Act, payment reform, care delivery reform and medical cannabis) as well as management expertise in new ventures, including two startups, he helps clients achieve their business objectives in regulated industries. Representative engagements include: assist with compliance matters before regulators, provide strategic advice to client considering new ventures, draft and advocate for legislation/regulation, implement new programs (including temporary leadership during transitions), leading initiatives to obtain business licenses and provide policy advice.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
