As with all California cannabis businesses, complying with your local jurisdiction is mandatory before you can apply for a license. MMRSA currently waives municipal rights to legislate this industry unless regulations are in place by March 1, 2016. For most jurisdictions, this is too soon to develop effective zoning and oversight; many are establishing emergency bans.
Get involved to establish rules under which you can successfully operate.
We recommend that you contact your Regional Water Board, the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, and your county to ensure you are in compliance.
