Owen-Dunn has been serving satisfied clients since 1949, when founders Carl and Edna Owen established Owen & Company, a personal insurance agency, in downtown Sacramento. In the 1960s, two of the couple’s three sons, Jere and John, joined their parents’ firm under its new name, Owen-Dunn Insurance Services. At that time, the business expanded to offer commercial insurance services, and the firm continued to prosper. In 1982, Carl and Edna’s great nephew, Owen Taylor, joined the firm while attending CSU Sacramento. Today, Owen serves as President of Owen-Dunn. In 2017, Owen-Dunn joined AssuredPartners, the nation's 13th largest insurance brokerage. With this new partnership, Owen-Dunn gained a national platform to utilize its expertise in Group Captive Insurance Programs.
