Nachtschatten

Since 1984, Nachtschatten Verlag, a specialized publisher for drug education, has been dedicated to providing objective information on the background and cultural history of drug use and contributing to prevention and harm reduction - in contrast to the usual black and white polemics and 'war on drugs'. According to our slogans, we believe that enlightened people can be self-determined in dealing with drugs provided the right information is available.

The publishing program covers a wide range: it contains not only books on illegal drugs, but also specialist information on the legal tobacco and alcohol, works on shamanism, drug policy, psycholytic therapy and philosophical views - for example, in the book series 'Ecology of Consciousness'. And with all seriousness, of course, the humor must not be missing (see our comics assortment).

Authors such as Albert Hofmann, Günter Amendt, Christian Rätsch, Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner, Wolfgang Bauer, Claudia Müller-Ebeling, Mathias Bröckers, Hans Cousto, Jonathan Ott, Sergius Golowin, Jack Herer, Gerhard Seyfried, Wolf-Dieter Storl, Robert Anton Wilson, Markus Berger, Alex Ochse and many others are represented in the publishing program of the last decades.
