William A. Looney was born on a spring day June 2nd 1939. His family moved to Sunnyside, WA where he graduated from Newport High School. After marrying Jean Ockert, "Mr. Bill" moved her and his children to Seattle so he could attend the University of Washington. Finding himself employed in real estate he sold his first home at the age of 21, working to care for his family while attending school.
"Mr Bill" toured all over the world including Russia and most of Eastern and Western Europe, biking around Taiwan, and risked imprisonment biking around Cuba during the travel prohibition. Impressively at the age of 63, Mr. Bill and his son completed a cross country bicycle trip across the U.S.A., completing the trip in only 45 days.
When Washington State legalized recreational marijuana in 2014, he saw a new opportunity, entered the state license lottery, won a license and then spent several months preparing to open his store, Mr. Bill's of Buckley, which is now a prominent business in the Buckley, Bonney Lake, Enumclaw area.
